What influences the price
Papers and bloodlines
- Registration: AMHA, AMHR or double-registered papers help clarify the horse's origins and selection.
- Bloodlines: some lines are valued for conformation, type, temperament or show results.
- Purpose: a companion, breeding prospect or show horse should not be compared only by price.
Quality and preparation
- Conformation: balance, legs, movement and miniature type remain essential.
- Age and handling: a young horse, broodmare, stallion or already-handled horse represents a different project.
- Care history: trimming, deworming, vaccination, feeding and regular handling are part of the horse's real value.
Budget after purchase
The purchase price is only one part of the budget. Plan for feed, hay, hoof care, veterinary care, fencing, shelter, equipment and possible transport. A miniature horse is still an equine: it needs a safe environment, companionship and serious care.
